I haven't written a decent blog post in ages. Don't get your hopes up, I won't today either. I just wanted to show you, O' devoted readers, my project for the past few days. I can't see why anybody who doesn't know me, and by that probably sees my room regularly, would bother reading this, so I'll assume you will all see the difference.

Aand since the picture below is me at the moment, that's all I have for you right now. Because "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!" (Being Juliedeer and some fancy sparkly strawberry stuff I got from my mom for my birthday.) Cheerio!

After celebrating my birthday, I realized that that night may very well be one of the best nights I've ever experienced. And without doubt it's the best birthday I've ever had. When I get all the pictures I'll write a post dedicated to it, but right now I figured I'd list all the other (the ones I can remember atm) such best days/nights I've had. So ta-da, a list of my happiest moments, in no order whatsoever:

-The day of the System of a Down concert in San Diego.
-The entire day/night spent in a rubber boat with Amalie and Julie.
-The first ever pumpkin-carving day with Siri.
-The Sunday in late July, 2009.
-A small party at Amalie's many years ago, at the end remaining with only Amalie, May Britt, Julie and me.
-The day this February when I made a surprise visit to Norway.
-The day Lars Erik, Victoria, Silje and I went to Hunderfossen.
-A random summer's day many years ago. It was nothing special, just a crowd hanging out at the beach and playing volleyball and soccer, but it was perfect.
-The day at Raumarock with Cec and Julie. (and don't you even dare think what you're thinking. It's on the list because of the festival feeling with two great friends and great music, nothing else)
-The day of the "Scenen er din" contest several years ago, when we reached the finals.
-First lego league, the actual day of the contest.
-The day when Karro and I were out all day in that boat.
-The All Time Low concert with Sally.
-And now, of course, night of the 3rd of December, a great party with incredible people. I love you guys.

Alright, the list turned out a bit longer than it was supposed to. And there are more days that should be on it, but y'know. I don't have time right now, but I'll soon edit this to contain some pictures from these awesome days.

Also known as the-exam-they're-making-me-take-today-because-last-year's-math-in-the-US-apparently-cannot-count. Too bad, I wish they'd use my grade from last year. It was one of the very, veryvery few classes I got an A in. Which is weird, since, y'know, I sort of despise math. But let's hope the weirdness continues, and that I will have a somewhat successful exam today! Cross your fingers for me, alright?

Oh, and I feel like mentioning that I've never worked so hard for anythig in my life. If you saw my math book you'd understand. Or maybe rather if you know how much I usually work for things. Ohwell.

I need to get ready now, so wish me luck!!

Today has been uneventful. Got two more ear piercings though.

Aand I have to wait a month to get the last one. Meaning I have to walk back into that jewelry store with the overly talkative lady who lacks a social antenna. Things I've learned today, between missing the boat and finally excusing myself to at least catch the next ferry:

-Her father who's been ill for some time is coming back to town in a week's time. Along with a nice description of his illness.

-She has two young boys. One of them is only her step son. He's in forth grade, her other kid just started first grade.

-She does not want the summer vacation to last for two months. She'd rather have the kids do no homework throughout the entire year, and then just have a month off. This is mostly due to the fact that she has a firstgrader who cannot be home alone for two months, and she cannot take all that time off. And a bunch of other reasons which she explained in detail to me, but I just won't put you through that.

-Her step son does not like all the stress with living a week in each home. And then she listed the reasons and what they have done to solve the problem.

-Last week she went to the store with her family. The guy behind the counter messed up the reciept, so she payed too much for the kids' candy. This annoys her, because it has been her favorite store.

-Oh, and she has a friend who has a father in Germany. The fact that I have a German line from some lyrics as my title is, trust me, completely unrelated.

Now, after the summary of what she told me in the 20 minutes it took me to get my piercings and escape, you could be her stalker. No need though, just drop by and she'll tell you everything herself, and tons more if you don't have an excuse to leave and you are too rude to make one up.

Now that I am assured that you have a lot of interesting and informative reading, I shall take my leave and go study for the history test tomorrow. Or go for a walk while listening to Oomph!. Probably the latter.

I'm getting this goddamn challenge over with.

Day 7: Four things that boys do that you hate.
1: I hate it when guys try to make girls jealous (though I'll admit it's hilarious, to a certain point, when they are too obvious and fail miserably as well. Most of you will get this reference, yes?)
2: I hate it when guys suddenly turn into clingy and needy puppies
3: I hate it when guys are overly feminine. Like dressing in pastel colors and having flashy earrings. Not attractive. At all. You've got to be somewhat macho.
4: I hate it when guys decide to take the easy way out. And when they decide not to tell you things that you'd very much like to know, assuming you'll figure it out by yourself after some time. Like the fact that they don't care about you anymore. Just an example, of course.

Three things I love that guys do:

These are all examples from the last few days. Speaking of, my last few days have been awesome. Here's a quick recap:
FRIDAY: A short day of school, then party at Magdelena's. And then a quest to make it all the way down to the ferry. Followed by walking home from the ferry while the sun was rising. So beautiful.

SATURDAY: After sleeping until around 5 PM, Tore came over and stayed until 1PMish the next day, since there are no buses on Saturday night.

(Techinically I walked home on Saturday night, so these pictures belong here)

SUNDAY: I did nothing whatsoever today, which was great. Woke up around noon, walked with Tore to the bus, walked home, did nothing, did nothing, took a shower, did nothing, ate some ice cream, did nothing, watched a movie, did nothing, and then went to bed.

Damn I'm tired. And I have so much to do, and so little time. Guh.

It didn't exactly hurt to send a text goodnight.

Not that this was by any means a clear night, but you know what I'm saying.

Since Amalie's usual big, comfy boat had one or several holes in it, we used two seperate ones that she just bought at Nille. Issue? They were meant for kids.

I don't usually post pictures of my wet thighs on my blog, but this is just to demonstrate how much water that entered the boat when I did. See, we're used to run and jump into Amalie's boat.We tried the same thing here, clearly it didn't go so well. But hey, we made it out alright. And then I noticed that my phone was in my soaked pocket, and that my now soaked phone is broken. Grrrrrr.

But I was out there with min kjære, so it was all perfect. Until we got really cold and had to go back inside to take a hot shower. And then it was perfect again.

And this would be the only picture of me taken that night. I'll be the first to admit that I look drugged, but don't worry, it's just my usual behavior. Oh, I said don't worry that I look and act like this when I'm completely sober and everything? Scratch that, I guess.

I have all of 4 almost full days left in the US. I didn't quite realize this until I dropped off my brother and Silje at the airport, leaving me to be the next one to go home. But this is home. Oh, I'm so confused at the moment. And I feel strange. I have been planning and thinking about this year of my life ever since I was 12. And now it's almost over. I guess it feels strange because I feel so old now.
No matter how I feel about it, the final question still remains: Just how do you pack an entire room into two suitcases and a carry-on?

At this speed, my "10-day challenge" will be done by November.

Aaand here goes day two. I'll change the name to a 10-post challenge btw, as that suits my nearly non-existing blogging habits better. And they may not come in the right order. Or even right after each other. Just so we're clear.

So I guess I'll tell you nine things about myself. There's a fancy bonus for anyone who knew at least eight out of the nine! Now that you're all excited, let's commence.

1: When I was young (6ish), I wanted to become a firefighter (Very important detail: I changed the profession to branndame, instead of the sexist word brannmann.)
2: I procrastinate. A lot.
3: I have more than 10 rubber duckies in my room. I haven't bought any of them, they just show up now and then.
4: If you're ever wondering where to find me at 4 AM on a clear summer night, chances are I'll be right here:

5: My favorite non-Harry Potter fictional character is Dustfinger, from the Inkheart series.
6: I prefer the sunrise to the sunset. I also prefer night to day.

Today has been an eventful day. As the picture suggests, I got my tattoo today. In the picture it still looks a bit sore and bloody, but I'm happy about it. You can't see it in the picture, but it's placed on my left wrist. And just to answer a question I know I'll get at some point: Nope, it didn't hurt at all. It was a bit uncomfortable, but that was it. In fact, I burst into laughter when I realized that that small stinging sensation was what everybody has made such a fuss about.
So, a dragon tattoo is not the most original thing, but that's really not the case. So what's the story? The tattoo is based on a necklace I gave to my best friend when I left Norway, for her to keep while we were apart. She drew me the sketch of the necklace. And why today? Why, it's that same great person's birthday!
Happy birthday Siri dear!!!

As for other big events for today.. I ate pizza! Two whole slices!! If you don't know me and my eating habits well, don't even try to understand the significance. Let's just say that I'm a tiny bit picky about food.

Life will be good because:
-I'm going over to Farfar's tomorrow
-In two days or so, I'm getting a tattoo. (Mom, if you're reading this, (Please don't be reading this, please don't be reading this..) I'm sorry. And I was going to tell you. At some point. While you're still on the other side of the Atlantic.)
-In two weeks, I'm doing two college visits to my cousins' colleges, Ithaca and Penn State.
-In May, I'm going to see SYSTEM OF A DOWN!!!! Yes, I'm just a tiny bit excited about that. And even better, Sally's coming with me. If she can convince her dad to let her go, that is.
-On June 5th I graduate.
-The day after, I start a trip around the US with my mom, unless she disowns me when she hears about my tattoo.
-Summer. Lars Erik and my Siljemonster are coming over here for three weeks, then there's the premiere of HP7 part 2, and some kind of big concert-something.
-I go home, followed by a lot of greatness, including climbing the tallest mountain in Norway and hanging out with the world's best people.

Life is good today because:
-I got at least 12 hours of sleep tonight.
-I'm playing my new Thrice album. Loudly.
-I was in New York yesterday, and am still happy about it.
-Spring is here.
-I talked to my dear Karoline on the phone, since it's her birthday (Happy Birthday Karro!).
-I have pink m&ms.
-I'll be blond again soon. (Oh, yeah, I'm temporarily a brunette. Just fyi.)
-I've made a lot of grand plans today for the time ahead, some of which you have already read.

Eight reasons for each, I don't want to bore my enormous audience with a lot of talk about why my life is so great. You know, all my.. uhm.. two readers? Three maybe? I mean, I can't lose you and end up writing just to myself, that's just a bit too sad.

Once again I'm stuck somewhere overnight while trying to get home. And I would be overjoyed to stay one more day in Norway, except that I have to spend it at an Oslo hotel, not at home in Vestnes. Oh, and in case you're not from Vestnes/are aware of my fantastic plans, I just stayed 48 hours in my lovely hometown, with its wonderful inhabitants. I might write about that later. Too bad I don't have pictures of people's faces when I showed up, I wasn't exactly expected there. But I have pictures, and will share them as soon as possible. In fact, I'll share just a few right now, the ones that I shot with my own camera.

Because though I am supposed to sit at a nice cafe in Paris now, eating croissants for breakfast, I am stuck in New Jersey. Yep, New Jersey. Was that even in my travel plans in the first place, you may ask, and the answer is hellno. Let me explain the 3 phases of yesterday.

Phase one, 4 PM ish:
Travel plan: Boston-Montreal-Paris
"I'm so sorry, but our flight to Montreal is delayed and you'll miss your connection, and all the flights to Paris are fully booked for the next few days". After a lot of running around, some unhelpful and some helpful people and a few panic attacks later:

Phase two, 9 PM ish
New Travel plan: Boston-Newark-Frankfurt-Paris
After arriving in Newark, being happy that everything worked out: "I'm sorry, we overbooked our flight, and you don't have seats. We can't help you." I go hunting for the airline I originally had tickets with. Nobody's around. I can't get a hold of anybody, I have nowhere to go.

Phase three, after midnight
Enter Sebastian. Manager-dude for United/Air Canada or one of those airlines. He did a lot of calling around and yelling at the right people, and suddenly it seemed as if I might actually get to Europe, though clearly the odds were against me.

NOW, 10.25 am
Travel plan: Newark-?-London. I think.
I got a hotelroom for the night, and am soon leaving to talk to Sebastian, as well as to get my suitcase back from the bastards who refused to give it to me last night. Hrmf.

In other news.I got my semester grades today. And I have a new theory. If I hate a subject, I am bound to ace it, just as I am bound to fail the classes I love. Well, not fail, but close enough. If you didn't guess, I am not entirely happy about my grades. Next term, then. I've already started, I did all the homework due for today. Damn, was I proud. And my teachers were ecstatic, that says something about how often I do my work.

And now I'm seriously wondering if I can write just one single goddamn post without mentioning school. I've started a truly terrible trend here, guys. I swear I'll change, I swear!! Speaking of.. I swear too much. I swear to change my swearing? Uhm.. Might be in over my head on that one.

New semester

Tomorrow is the first day of my 2. semester at LS. Wow, time passes quickly. First of all: Why the heck would someone start a semester on a FRIDAY? That's just ridiculous. I mean, it might have something to do with the two snow days which we've just had.. It's still weird.
Second semester means 3 new classes. Yaay! No, not really. I was perfectly content with the ones I had. And I don't even want digital imaging or whatsitsname. Whinewhinewhine. But hey, I am guaranteed an awesome teacher in at least one of my English classes, which is good. And I've talked too much about school now. I'll stop.
Sadly, I don't have a lot of non-school related things to write about. "Then freakin' stop writing," you may be thinking. It's not that easy. I simply can't have an entire post only about school, it's depressing. So let's just add a competely non-topic random picture and say that's enough.

Today just got a lot better. Issue? Tours in Europe. Europe. I'm not in Europe. Issue #2? The concert dates are basically right on my graduation/the two weeks after, when mom is visiting me in the States. Only solution? Going to Milan two days before graduation. Hopefully things will be more interesting in the time to come. This weekend, apart from being my birthday, I am seeing Harry Potter 7 part one. Not once, but twice. It'll be a great weekend. And surely I'll be stuffed with cake and such too, on Sunday. Then there'll be some quick weeks, and Christmas will be here! Ah, life is good.

First, to all future employers: This blogpost represents the young, careless me, and I am sure that by the time you read this, I've grown into being responsible and timely.
There, once that's out of the way:

If you are, probably because of a serious lack of things to do with your free time, a frequent reader, you will remember me talking about an essay on Beowulf, the epic from the 500's. Yeah, this was more than a week ago. If you know me well, you already know what's coming next: *drums* I haven't written it yet.
It's not just that I haven't finished it, but up until right now, I hadn't even started. Finally I figured out a partly acceptable thesis-statement, and that's all I have so far. Of course I was so proud of this accomplishment, I had to share it with you at once.

I should also mention that I just had some friends from Oslo/Franklin here, which was great. They are my God-parents, and Katrina has been my "little sis" all my life. And her brothers are.. Well, something different, that's for sure. No offence guys, but you're strange.

Then all there is for me to do, is to finish my essay! The internet is a scary place, so anyone could, in theory, read this. So just in case: Mr W., I'm sorry about the essay, I'm a terrible student. I promise I'll work on my priorities!

Did you know that going to homegoods is pretty dangerous? We went in for towels, and came out with towels + 300 dollars worth of other stuff. Like Mr. B. Anks. And pumpkin/spiderweb shaped pasta. And a halloween cookie jar. And a delicious looking sparkling something. And the list goes on. Was it my fault? Yes, partly. But my dad is just as bad as me. Ah, this was one of this day's projects. And I'm happy. And no, I do not have a rubber-ducky fetish, they just keep coming into my possession. Not that I mind, but just sayin'..
Back to my newly finished, lovely wall. This gives me a feeling of home, and shows me those things I would never forget, even without the pictures. And if you're reading this, I'm guessing you're probably up there somewhere.

The problem is, I had many things to do today. Three essays, among those things, all due tomorrow. And other stuff. You're looking at what I spent all my time doing, and now it's almost 10 PM, I've finished one of those essays, aka the easy history one. And I'm wasting time here, because I don't really want to write about how Silone and De Sica ennobled and dignified the poor through their books/movies. I do not want to compare Barardo Viola's and Antonio Ricci's responses to their respective belittlement either. And after I have done that, I truly don't want to stary studying the Anglo-Saxon traditions, to be able to argue whether or not Beowulf's actions corresponded to them. Gahhhh, why why why did I, out of free will, double-enroll in English?

Small issue here. My dad usually drives me to school when he goes to work every day. My dad also just left for an urgent trip to Indiana. How the heck am I getting to school? I sound like a spoiled brat, I am aware. But I'm not quiite certain about the bus's whereabouts, or when it shows up. I know it's early, before 7 sometime. Meaning it would be sensible to walk to school (An hour-something-walk), so I could sleep longer.
I don't know what to do. So.. someone, anyone: pick me up tomorrow at 7.30, and you'll forever be my hero.

The first day at my new school today! Everything was great. I woke up early, got ready in time, got a ride to school, and followed my schedule for this Monday, with my freeblock, bio and French 2. Do you see the problem I didn't see this morning? Yes? No? I'll tell you: Today is not a Monday. Today's Wednesday. It would have been more helpful if I knew that some time around 7.50.
Let me give you an idea of how I thought my day was supposed to be, versus what it was supposed to be like:

Since I had a freeblock I couldn't notice it in first period. About second period.. I don't know what happened. I was not to have biology today, but my teacher was expecting me, so maybe he was as confused as me. Hey, I got to dissect a cow's eye. Again. Yay.
Then for French 2. At first, I was shocked and slightly scared. More than slightly, infact. I didn't know that the teacher would be speaking only French. Not only that, but I could only catch some words here and there, sometimes a sentence. The thing is: my class had no problem with this, they understood everything. Was my French really that bad, and their experience so superior to mine?
So, she asked us all questions about ourselves and about things in general. Indeed, I was the only student to say "Uhhm... What? Can you repeat that...?" And she did. I still didn't understand it. It was horrible.
After class I talked to her, and after a brief discussion, she found my error. "And, oh, this is French 5, for people who have had French since middle school". Guess that explains a little.

Interesting day, I must say. And I have some explaining to do tomorrow to some teachers and my housemaster. Also, I already have an essay due for Wednesday next week, from the only class I attended that I was supposed to be in, aka Modern American History.

That's enough school-talk for one night.

Scary as it is, that's not the reason why "yikes" is the title of this post. See, today is kinda the last day of my summer vacation. Tomorrow I have orientation, and then on Wednesday is the big day: my first day at LS. I'm pretty calm right now, but I know that I will, at some point, be scared to death.
To make it all better, I'm completely on my own. Why? We (aka dad and I) are incapable of reading a calendar, and he will be gone on my first day of school. No one to drive me if I miss the bus that I have no idea where is. Or if I oversleep, which is the most likely case, and would lead to theory 1. Perfect.

Bearly read books

I've found another great new favorite store (If I never told you, the first one is Newbury Comics). This place, as the title indicates, is called "bearly read books". It's a book store, only all the books are used, so they're quite cheap. And they're well used, not ripped or full of writing. Well, some are. But I never choose a book with anything written in it. Kinda hypocritical, as I often underline my favorite passages and lines. But then again, that's why I want a fresh book.

I know you are curious to know what I got, so tada:

I'm most excited about the sonnets, and have found what I think will remain my favorite. Which is sonnet 44, should you be curious.

It's a fact: Bugs have invaded my room. And not just any kind of bugs: Mosquitos. Blodsucking, annoying creatures. Don't get me wrong, there are other kinds of lovely bugs here as well, but none quite as irritating as the flock of bloodsuckers. If you're a long follower, you might have seen my 20 something posts describing my fondness of insects. So yes, I am thrilled.

Today, for the first time in weeks, I decided to go to bed early, and even more shocking, get up early as well. Too bad that's not fucking possible with these things flying around. I'll have to spend my night jumping around my room trying to kill them. Let me demonstrate:

Since I refuse to write another poor-me-I-don't-have-a-life-post, though it might be true at the moment, here are five good things from the five last days:
-I got my learner's permit. Other drivers might want to discuss that being a good thing.
-I've been to Boston.
-I now own a few more great CDs. Which I legally bought.
-Crist mill is probably the most peaceful, most beautiful place to sit and read, which I have now discovered.
-I'm no longer broke. For now.

See, it's not so bad.
Today you won't get a new picture for your exciting puzzle, as I'm currently working on fixing up my room a little. I'll give them to you in a few days, I swear! Since I know you're all sitting on the edges of your seats right now, waiting.

Oh, one more good thing: I've discovered Pandora radio, which is great. So tell me this.. What do you do, when you're new in Sudbury, have no friends and you're starting to think that it is, in fact, possible to die from boredom? It's official, from this day on (and for a year), I live in Sudbury.
Apart from a few details, like the 10-minute shower policy and the invasion of the ants, it's perfect. Hey, at least those 100-something ants will make sure I won't be lonely. And there aren't 100 left. I killed at least 30 with my own bare kleenexes, and probably another 50 with that bugspray. The remaining 20 are spread around my room, for my convenience.

Right now I need my sleep, but I felt like informing you that for the next four days, I will be posting pictures of different parts of my new room. And you'll put it together when those days have passed, like a fun puzzle. Yaay!

So, yeah.. I just got home from Milano. I was there for nearly a week, with my usual traveling-companion, aka my mom. Hey, if she wants to show me all of Europe, I won't say no. Besides, it was a good trip. As any other trip with her, we had a lot of walking, frequent arguing, but great things to be seen, which makes up for it. Also, the weather was great. And we came home to pouring rain. I miss Milano..

I'm in the middle of an English project, on the English language. And we (Cec, Rubi, Julie & me) decided to choose different English languages/accents. So, Texan for me! Here's some stuff I found:

Step 1
Add syllables to words. Texans with a heavy accent don't use one-syllable words.

Step 2
Drop the "g" from "ing" when it is found at the end of words. Texans don't go "walking." They go "walkin."

Step 3
Change the "ing" to an "ang" when it is found within a word. Texans with a heavy accent don't "sing." They "sang."

After 5 awesome days off from school, freedom's up. I wasn't ready to let it go of it just yet. In case any future employers for some reason happen to read this: No, I don't just take days off because I feel like it. Never, really, unless I have a good reason (sickness and such). So there.

Today, however, was an exception. Julie (Oh yes, I convinced her to come with me. Not that she was all that unwilling) and I got ourselves "ungdomskort", and visited Kristiansund. A two-hour bus drive, but it was worth it. And so much better than the alternative.
I took a few pictures, but mostly we just.. Spent large amounts of money (on mainly useless things), ate ice cream and found yellow Monster. I'm very close to my own personal heaven.

Karoline couldn't come with us, and this is how happy she was right before we left. Next time, kjære! <3

I always wish upon falling stars. I often go out to watch them, mostly with Amalie. I love being out at night, watching the sky. It's so incredibly beautiful. But I never quite understood, do you get just one wish ever, or a new one every time you see a falling star? Sometimes that could be a lot of wishes to be fulfilled, you know. I use the same one, just in case. And it.. doesn't really work. So far, anyway. Or, hell, I don't know.

Should have listened to the signs, I know.
But it could have been worse. So I'll make a list of a few things, to show why today was a good day:
1- I decided it would be, therefore it is.
2- I had ice cream.
3- Because I failed my math test this time, it'll look like I improved a lot if I get a good grade next time.
4- I didn't have to take the test I surely would have failed.
5- I got to postpone the drawing of blood from my veins by a day. (A normal let's-figure-out-if-something's-seriously-wrong-with-you test. It sounds more drastic than it is. I think.)
6-And as a follow-up to the last point, I didn't have to get lost while hunting for the big, probably white building that is the hospital.
7-I don't (think I) have anything I really need to do.
8-I didn't miss the bus.

8's a good number, so I'll just stop there. Today wasn't that bad after all.

Today will be a grand day.

Why, you ask? I'm not really sure. It was just one of my first thoughts when I woke up.
The sky is gray and you can't really see that far because of the fog. I have a presentation at school that I haven't even finished. I'm awake now, though it's not even 6 AM yet. None of these are usually signs of a good day. But it will be, it will be.

Amazing people and an elephant

I'm so sorry. For those of you who started reading this just because of the word "elephant", I must disappoint you. There will not be a single reference (except this one) to that animal in this post. I just had to trick you into start reading in the first place. And you've come this far, why not continue?
I will write about amazing people though. Because two very amazing and thoroughly awesome people just had their birthdays. Karoline (Saturday) and Siri (Monday).

I've posted this picture before, but Siri, you've honestly got a huge hide-whenever-a-camera's-even-close-to-close-issue. And you're the strangest person I've ever met. That's probably why you're my best friend. Love you, cherrypie.

Wow, I feel like I've had a small vacation or something. I do prefer being able to leave the house and such though.

As we speak (well, kinda), I am watching a small, black, evil and many-legged creature. Yup, a spider has invaded my home. Normally I'd scream for my brother to come kill it. Since he lives in Molde now, I'd scream for my mom. Who just left for work. I am all alone with this monster. Uggh.
Also, I've had the flu since Friday. And I've done nothing but feeling sorry for myself. And this.. this.. thing makes it even worse. Oh poor, poor, pitiful me. But I've got ice cream, so it'll be alright.
Now I shall defend my castle! Adieu!

The only thing I bought in Trondheim a few days ago. I simply love it. (Edit: I lied. I also got some monster-stickers and mushroom-shaped erasers.)

While we're (I'm) talking about Trondheim: Remember that trip in 9th grade to Trondheim? I'm now supposing that everyone who reads this lived in Vestnes or nearby a few years ago, which is probably the case.
Anyway.
Karoline, Marita and I wrote our names on a tree at Erling Skakkes gate 40, with a permanent marker. Not even a very good one, or so we thought. Must have been though, because it's still there. I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised. Both at the fact that it's still there, and because I remembered a street address for that long.

I have nothing more interesting to say. Once again I'm making an assumption, this time that you found the rest of the post interesting. Not that it matters of course. Oh yes; I have grand plans for next week.

Right now I'm on my way to Ålesund with Julie. We were supposed to leave an hour ago, but the bus drove away, while we were running after it, screaming and almost taking off from waving our arms so much. And we were even waiting for the bus for 5 minutes before it got there.

So an hour later, we once again attempt to get on the bus. It's not as easy as it sounds, you see. This time, the stupid guy won't let me use my free-bus/boat/ferry-for-a-month-card (also refered to as 'ungdomskort',cost: 400-something), because his machinething doesn't work properly, and I don't have the receipt that nobody bothered to tell me I might need. So I had to run to the nearest ATM to get some money to pay the mean person, who btw looked like an egg with a mustache. I used 75 krone, and got to Ålesund an hour late.
Ah, I love it when a day starts out this great.

And I loove feeling dirty, and I loove feeling cheap!

Today/night, I'm going to break all my personal rules, everything I told myself I'd never do.. Yes, you guessed it. I'm posting an outfit photo. TO MY DEFENCE: I bought this dress today, in a secondhand store. And I love it. And the slippers fit, right? And.. I don't have to explain this.
Oh, and yeah.. Just so that I've warned you, once and for all: This IS what you'll meet if you ever try to wake me while I'm sleeping. And yes, I like to scare people away from my blog by posting scary pictures of myself.
What have I forgotten.. Ah. Happy Valentine's day! I was intending to celebrate the day by going to a romantic movie, alone, eating ice cream, alone, then going to bed, alone. But I changed my mind. Chocolate Chip Cookies

The real, the original, the authentic Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks, 1/2 pound) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated [white] sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 cups (12-ounce package) Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels (or just normal chocolate, like Norwegian melkesjokolade <3

(you can add nuts, but.. don't.)

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

PAN COOKIE VARIATION: PREPARE dough as above. Spread into greased 15"x10" jelly-roll pan. Bake in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.

FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (>5,200 feet): INCREASE flour to 2 1/2 cups; add 2 teaspoonfuls water with flour; reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookies for 17 to 19 minutes.

Awesome recipe. Time to make cookies, people! :D

Once again, I can't sleep. Not that I've tried a lot tonight though. The moment I turn off my computer, I have to read for my social studies test tomorrow, which I, of course, don't want to do. So, I'm still here.

This weekend I've been visiting Siri (The cute/scary creature in the picture below) in Fiksdal, which is a place even smaller than the postcard-pretty-stamp-sized-town I live in. Yeah, imagine that. It's beautiful though. And I like it there. It reminds me of endless summers, childhood and Harry Potter. Ah, good times, grand times.

And I've been listening to Death Cab For Cutie the whole day/night. They have beautiful songs. Right now I'm listening to "Cath..". One of my favorites is probably Transatlanticism. The lyrics, ahh. And since I'm secretly a masochist (before I posted this where anyone, anywhere can read it, that is), I'm topping it all with Incubus - I miss you. If you didn't get that, you're not supposed to.

Now I need to read. Awrr. Wish me luck, fine gentlemen.

I guess if you've seen this, you've also seen the new "randomness of the day". It should really be named "Randomness of whenever I feel like writing (or copy/pasting) something random". But that's just not quite as catchy. So "Randomness of the day" it is.

Soo.. You'll probably never get the long "in the US" post. Partly because it'd be boring with this enormous post, partly because you know the most vital parts, partly because I'm lazy. It would have been easier if I just wrote while I was there. But again: I'm lazy.

So I never wrote when I got to Stow. In fact, I didn't even go to Stow. I went to my farfar's and stayed the night. So I'm excused.
Right now I'm watching the rest of my class taking a test I'm having next Monday, because of jetlag and stuff. And because I didn't read. And because I'd rather sleep than read. You (most likely) know me.
So I'll write an update from my awesome trip to the US later today or tomorrow. Soon, anyway.
Just quick updates, until you get the whole story:

*Christmas was completely fantastic.

I celebrated Christmas today with my mom and brother, since I'll be gone for the real thing. Almost no presents though, since it's not really Christmas yet, so I'll bring some to the US, I guess.
I ate pinnekjøtt! *Proud* (For the unlikelyness of someone reading this who doesn't know me well: I don't really eat a lot of different types of food. Kinda close to none at all. So this is a big deal). And I even liked it. Yes, I said it, I liked something that doesn't taste like air.
Now I'll go to bed, still in shock.
